Education

Bachelor of Engineering (NQF8) - Mechanical

Namibia University of Science And Technology (NUST, Windhoek
04.2001 -

Engineering degree with emphasis on analytical problem solving. My 4th year specialization was renewable.

Additionally my 2 final year projects, the group project and individual project. The group project was design a simulated electric car in matlab inputting a physical route GPS data to compute regenerative braking and energy consumption to a diesel powered SUV. the individual project was designing a motorcycle scissor lift with the help of a advanced program written in c++ to essential do the engineering and force calculation for me. Both projects we where expected to research and use methods not taught to us to show our independence in problem solving and self learning. My instructors was very pleased with both my projects end results.

Accomplishments

Improve the hot water system at Mediclinic swakopmund by 90% while decreasing the downtime frequency from every 3 months to 1.5 years.

Produced 30% of all covid required building additions myself in 2019 during the severe lockdown period.

Identified, motivated and supervised a project to replace the incinerator chimney. This reduced the diesel consumption by 50% and reduced the time required to incinerate waste by 60%.

Worked with doctors to find a balance between sustainable oxygen use and effective treatment to keep the consumption below 460kg a day or 150 bottles 3 days. Supplier could not supply more than 150 bottles a day do to lack of bottle supply in the county for empty to full bottle exchange.

Worked with surrounding hospitals and individuals to provide oxygen and equipment parts as a life saving measure.

Produced a tool to remove oxygen fittings without shutting off oxygen in a area. This was needed because the flow regulators needed to be change of a regulator and a a quick fitting for oxygen to patient supply equipment where it was too high risk to shutoff oxygen.

Helped plan permanent isolation rooms for the ICU that can be opened up and used as a normal open bed instead of temporary isolation cubicles.

hobbies

I am currently developing a advanced digital tig welder from the ground up. I am done with topogy selection for the switching and the rectification and I am in the UI development and programming phase.

I am in the process of restomoding a 2000 Mitsubishi Pajero and a 1984 XT600 tenere. I just finished a functional restoration of a KTM 990 adventure, but I need to develop tools to accurately tune fuel maps and in the feature/requirement listing phase of other improvements.

I also dabble in hand tool only wood work and am quite experienced in metal fabrication. as a supporting hobbly.
