- Develop Calls for Applications inviting entrepreneurs and representatives of financial institutions to submit expressions of interest in the facility.
- Identify and engage regional financial institutions to be linked to entrepreneurs as well as being provided with training on renewable energy project appraisal.
- Conduct preliminarily quality assessment of a variety of renewable energy project proposals submitted by the entrepreneurs.
- Provide advice to project managers (at IRENA, ENERGICA and at SACREEE) on next steps in the implementation of the projects.
- Coordinate the design and organisation of training and mentorship programmes for selected entrepreneurs and financial institutions.
- Support the design of innovative cross-sector nanogrids
- Support the development and testing of adapted agri-specific solutions
- Support the sizing and testing of adapted water-specific solutions
- Support the development and testing of adapted cooling-specific solutions
