· To take lead responsibility for establishing, developing, and maintaining effective partnerships with key external agencies e;g National Sports Partnership and other key funding agencies;

· Lead, develop and implement new sports development initiatives in partnership with local providers in voluntary, educational and commercial sectors;

· To lead in identification, establishment, and implementation of programme and key partnerships at regional and county level that are aimed at increasing opportunities for all students to participate and perform in sports activities;

· To take lead responsibility for day-to-day management of sports development budget;

· To secure on going and future funding for sports related projects and posts to support further development of sports development programme and activities;

· Ensure appropriate performance indicators and management information systems are established which provide accurate measure of performance of service by coaches and team managers;

· Monitor performance, expenditure , and ensure that all administration and financial systems, including budgetary targets, are properly implemented;

· Responsible for identifying and reviewing with staff that report directly, their training and development needs and for bidding for resources needed to provide those staff with skills required to achieve department objectives.
