Responsibilities but not limited to:

Actuarial Valuation Report ( Mid Year & Main Audit):

  • Assist QED ( Life Actuarial Team QED + - Short Term Actuarial Team QED) with the yearly NamibRe mid and main actuarial valuation audit report
  • Perform statistical analysis of life data to identify trends
  • Provide Namibian economic feedback on data trends and or NamibRe business impacts upon request from QED should any discrepancies in the raw data be picked up
  • Generate and maintain reports summarizing the results. Prepared detailed documentation to support actuarial assumptions, processes, and results. i.e. provide Life Lead File ( Summary Excel file detailing the Total Reinsurance and Per Policy yearly and quarterly profit
  • Run the QED FTP Raw data site
  • Produce files upon requests from QED to assist with the completion of the NamibRe Actuarial Valuation Reports ( i.e “ Life Lead File” etc )

  • Greatly attributed to the processing and reporting of the 12.5% Per Policy Compulsory Session agreements between NamibRe and all insurance institutes in Namibia. ( So as to ensure capital retainment within the Namibian economy )
  • Assisted CFO with urgent requests ( produce excel files according to instruction )
  • Monitor the ongoing life business environment
  • Produce NAMFISA ( Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority ) Quarterly Reports
  • Support the corporate goal to grow the reinsurance business by reviewing claims data to assess potential losses due to fraud or regulatory defaults by the cedents
  • Analyse the quarterly life data received from cedents, ensuring compliance with regulations and acts. Report findings to CFO / GM should repeated claims, understated premiums etc be picked up in the raw data)
  • Participated in cross-functional teams tasked with developing innovative solutions for business challenges
  • Identified areas where existing systems can be improved through process reengineering initiatives
