Grade Control/Production Geology:

• Conducts blastcone mapping and geological modeling of blast cone data for area scheduled to be blasted and mined.
• Modelling of blasthole data and delineation of ore and waste, including efforts to minimize ore loss and dilution and optimize production.
• Conduct pit rounds daily for observations of material as they are being extracted to assess their quality, monitor ore dilution, and minimize the effects thereof, identifying, correcting and reporting misbookings of material.
• Continuously monitors and analyse of the processing plant performance (mainly grade, calc Index and deleterious material) trends in relation to the feed.
• Carry out resource model and truck scanner reconciliations as well as recovered metal to identify, analyse and manage variance between planned and actual results.
• Documents production related inputs, outputs, key parameters, observations and investigations in written reports.
• Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
• Participates in short-term operational mine planning.
• Provides geological and mineral resource support as required across other departments and works collaboratively between teams to ensure that best practices, optimizations and innovations are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Undertakes mineral resource related projects when required.
• Stockpile management and reconciliation.
• Acquire database management.
• Radiometric truck scanner management to ensure accurate functioning.
• Quality control of load and haul dispatch data.
• Continuous liaison with key stakeholders, including mining operations, processing operations and Analytical laboratories.
• Supervision of blasthole sampling, sample preparation and submission to onsite Chemical laboratory.
• Blasthole QAQC Data analysis & Reporting.
• Conduct monthly instrument checks, ensure calibration and certifications are done.
• Supports, mentors and supervises Geological Assistants in the execution of geological tasks.
• Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety compliance.

Geotechnical:

• Geological and structural pit mapping of final pit walls and timely capturing of data in minesight.
• Groundwater level measurements using piezometers.
• Pit wall slope stability monitoring using slope stability radars.

• Supervises probe operators during probing of blast holes
• Supervises exploration drill rigs during resource drilling
• Probing QAQC compilation and reporting
• Assist with geological pit mapping
• Ensure integrity of probing data
• Operates probing equipment
• Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance

Production Geology:

• Modelling of blasthole data and delineation of ore and waste.
• Resource and Grade control model reconciliation
• ROM management, preparation of feed blends and good understanding of the impacts of ore-blend on processing operations
• ROM stockpile sampling for geometallurgical analysis
• Stockpile management and reconciliation
• Monitoring reconciliations between predicted, and actual ROM and product tonnes
• Preparation of relevant reports (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly) for
  senior managers.
• Continuous liaison with key stakeholders, including mining operations, process
• Truck scanner management to ensure accurate functioning
• Quality control of load and haul dispatch data
• Work together with Mining Engineers and fellow Geologist and advises Engineers on geological factors affecting mining.
• Mine/mill reconciliation
• Supervision of graduate Geologist
• Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety compliance

Exploration Geology:

• All RC exploration planning, execution, supervision, and sampling.
• Give collar files to the surveyors timeously and ensure drilling is done in priority areas.
• Supervision of Geologists and drilling contractor and ensure that they perform their duties safely and according to high standards.
• Geological data collection, validation, interpretation and QAQC
• Sampling and QA/QC requirements for sampling to ensure accurate lab results.
• Lithological logging of RC drill chips.
• Check and approve monthly drilling invoices.
• Preparation of relevant reports (Monthly and Quarterly) for senior managers.
• Review all work procedures when due
• Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety compliance

• Delineation of ore and waste composites in the pit.
• Ore spotting in the open pit to ensure the loading of blasted material is directed to the correct destination by using loading plans and truck tallies
• Comply with Risk policies, practices and procedures
