Kate Henley

Diligent and academically curious student with strong talents in writing and researching. Has gained organization and time management skills through balancing studies with horse riding and track and field. Has gained leadership skills and work experience through working as a show jumping instructor. Is looking to utilize abilities and further studies at a higher education institution.

• Corner of Love, Summers 2023 and 2024

Traveled to Costa Rica for 2 weeks each summer to provide Nicaraguan Refugees with medical care and basic necessities. Was able to listen to the refugees stories which broadened my understanding of world issues and expanded my knowledge of Spanish.

• Necessities for Homeless, 2022

During freshman year co-founded organization which distributed bags of necessities to the homeless of downtown Austin. Partook in gathering supplies from fellow students and personally distributing them to the homeless.

Has been a competitive show jumper for the last ten years. Usually spends about twenty-five hours training a week. Has competed at competitions across the country and has participated in clinics run by Olympic equestrians.

Spends free time creative writing. Is currently working on novel that exceeds forty-thousand words with hopes to publish.
