Accomplished expert in Transfusion medicine with vast experience in the entire blood transfusion chain from blood donor recruitment to administration of blood products to patients while ensuring the entire value chain of blood transfusion is conducted in a cost- effective manner. I am a key player in the development and implementation of the National Blood System in Namibia, having drafted the Blood Transfusion Regulations, Standards for the Practice of Blood Transfusion in Namibia as well as various blood transfusion guidelines and policies for Namibia. A global player with experience serving as a Consultant in Transfusion medicine for the World Health Organization, International Society for Blood Transfusion and the National Bioproducts Institute of South Africa. A financial sustainability expert having developed and implemented successful financial sustainability programme for NAMBTS. Results-driven and strategic Chief Operations Officer with knack for streamlining operations and driving growth. Transformed supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, resulting in significant cost savings. Led cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions, boosting profitability and operational excellence.

• Successfully implemented a financial sustainability model at NAMBTS since 2017 and is ongoing. This allowed NAMBTS to successfully recover from withdrawal of PEPFAR funding and improving self-funding without compromising blood availability and blood safety.
• Successfully established new infectious testing laboratories including Individual Nucleic Acid Testing (ID-NAT) in NAMBTS laboratories in Windhoek and managed to relocate TTI testing to Namibia in 2014, being the second country in Sub Saharan Africa to implement ID-NAT for blood screening to improve blood safety. • Developed and implemented a quality management system at NAMBTS that saw NAMBTS being accredited at level 3 (international level) by the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion being the first blood service in Africa to achieve this level of accreditation in 2013 and being to maintain this level again in 2020.
• Successfully managed to have surplus recovered plasma accepted for fractionation by the National Bioproducts Institute (NBI) in South Africa and to have a supply contract with NBI since 2014. This ensures that all surplus recovered plasma is not wasted and improves availability of plasma derived medicinal products in Namibia while generating more income for the blood service. Currently about 77% of recovered plasma which would have been otherwise wasted is exported to be fractionated.
