I have 13 years combined background and experience in social work counselling, facilitation of educational programs, health education, community developed and employee wellness in the organisation. I also have experience in academic research, and organisational surveys. I am the founder and CEO of Tuyenda Psycho-Social Services CC. The company offers activities such as counselling, training programmes on mental health and employee well, and community development. I’m passionate about women empowerment, advocating for gender equality, education and improving the health care of the society. My motto in life is “enhancing the capabilities of people is vital for development”.

  • Conducting crisis and non-crisis interventions, and counselling services
  • My responsibilities also include developing and initiating wellness programs in relation to international mental health wellness activities, conducting surveys with staff on job satisfaction, providing recommendations on existing strategies, policies, and procedures to management, ensuring a conducive working environment through mental health and skills development training/presentations for staff, and budgeting and monitoring financial statements for wellness activities.

  • Reconstruction services to offenders through individual and group counselling, facilitated core structured and rehabilitation support programmes to offenders namely, Thinking and Living skills, Managing My Substance Use, Motivating Offenders to Rethinking Everything, and Gender-Based Violence.
  • I also provided professional reports for offenders undergoing rehabilitation programs recommending them for safe release from correctional services, however also ensuring their safe custody while incarcerated, and rehabilitation of offenders.

  • I conducted legal foster care placement for children found in need of care in respect of the Children Act No. 33 of 1960, legal placement of children in Residential Child Care Facilities (RCCFs), and custody, custody and control, and guardianship investigations and recommendations for lower and high courts to ensure proper placement of the children.
  • I also screen children in conflict with the law, making recommendations for the appropriate diversion programs, re-integration programs and services for the juveniles in conflict with the law, behavioral counseling and family therapy, and establishing educational motivational talks in secondary schools on the fundamental social issues, especially substance abuse, as well as advocacy on the rights of abused children and reconstruction services.
